Obituary of Brooke Lynn Smith

Brooke Lynn Smith, 6, of Park Ave., Utica, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center after an accident. She was born on November 10, 2013, the daughter of Kandace L. Smith and Frankie K. Jones. Born premature at just 30 weeks, she was a born fighter who had the biggest smile and big dreams. Brooke was a 1st grader at General Herkimer Elementary School in Utica. She loved her school, teachers, friends, and family. Brooke was such a happy child who brought so much sunshine, light, positivity, and happiness into people’s lives. She loves unicorns, bows, and rainbows. She just learned how to ride her bicycle without training wheels. She enjoyed going to the beach, playing with chalk and bubbles, playing Roblox on her tablet, and doing everything that a kindhearted, loving, sweet little girls love to do. She was a true Princess. Surviving besides her loving parents, Kandace and Frankie, of Utica; are her sisters, Myah, 11, and Meya 15; her maternal grandfather, Michael Smith, of Canastota; her maternal grandmother, Linda Card, of Munnsville; her grandparents, T.C. Caldwell and Ruthann Chaya, of Utica; her paternal grandmother, Octavia Jones, of Brooklyn; her paternal grandfather, Randolf Lynch, of the Grenadine Islands; her aunts and uncles whom adored her, Brooke Smith (Cory Bilodeau), of Rome, Kenny Smith, of Utica, Gloria Card (Raymond Crandall), of Rome, Michael Smith, Jr., of Munnsville, Chantele Jones, Keishawna Jones, Kendra Jones, Alessa Lynch, and Jalon Lynch; her cousins, Keyairah Moore, Greyson Crandall, Raymond Crandall, III, Trysten Card, Alexander McLiesh, Darryen Danielski, MaKennah Smith, and Arriannah Smith;her maternal great-grandmothers, Roberta Partridge, of Canastota, and Carol Card; and her paternal great-grandmother, Mercella Jones. Private graveside services will be held at Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday, June 12, 2020, from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida. Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, there will only be allowed a certain number of people in the funeral home at a time. The funeral home staff respectfully asks that you wear a face covering into our facility and try to maintain proper social distancing protocols. When you arrive at the funeral home, we ask that you enter from the side entrance of the funeral home and exit thru the front to avoid unnecessary contact.
