Obituary of Patricia A Borst

Patricia A. Borst, 80, of Cornell St., Rome, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice.

 

She was born on November 6, 1938, in Rome, NY, the daughter of Woodrow W. and Eleanor E. Heller Lohr.  She was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School.

 

On September 8, 1962, Patricia was united in marriage to Richard G. Borst in Rome.  He passed away on October 30, 2009.

 

She was a lifelong resident of the area and of the Catholic faith.

 

She was a member of the New London Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She was an avid pitch player and reader.  She also enjoyed playing Bingo.  Her greatest joy in life was when she was surrounded by her loving family, especially her grandchildren whom she cherished.

 

Surviving are her six children, Robin (Randy) Carey, of Camden, Richard Borst, Jr. (girlfriend, Suzanne), of New London, Harold Borst (fiancé, Agnes), of Verona, Terri Borst (fiancé, Bernard Grosjean), of Durhamville, Michael (Stephanie) Borst, of Lakeland, MN, and Ron (MJ) Borst, of Verona; two daughters-in-law, Pamela Borst, and Margaret Borst, both of New London; two sisters, Agnes Pezzula, and Ola Pritchard, all of Rome; fourteen grandchildren, Erin (Keith) Williams, Ryan Borst (fiancé, Nicole), Robert Borst, Jr. (fiancé, Loren), Erica (Allan) Litterio, Latitia Leonard, Tricha Page, Biance (Nathan) Bobec, Tiffany (Brian) Shovlin, Kaylie (John) Lacasse, Brennan Borst, Brenna Borst, Brendan Borst, Emmi Borst, and Michael Roberts (fiancé, Kiera); eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Patricia was predeceased by two sons, Robert L. “Bob” Borst on November 9, 2012, and Brian L. Borst on January 27, 2016; and two sisters, Shirley Watkins of August 10, 2013, and Barbara Winchell 2005.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at 7:00 PM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., where the Pastor Diane WoodworthWright will officiate.  Private interment will take place in Grove Cemetery, Durhamville.  Family and friends are invited and may call prior to the service on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.  Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY, 13413.
