Obituary of Kathy Wallace
Kathy Jo Wallace, 60, of 3556 Graves Rd., passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Oneida Health Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer for the past year and a half.
She was born on December 26, 1958, in Oneida, the daughter of James C. and Joyce Wilkes Whitcomb, Sr. She attended Oneida High School.
On September 5, 2009, Kathy was united in marriage to Chad M. Wallace in Verona.
Kathy was employed as a waitress and server at SavOn and Colosseo’s for several years.
She spent a brief time in Houston, TX, from 1980-1989.
Kathy was of the catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
Kathy was a talented artist and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a great cook and loved organizing parties.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. As her final wish, Kathy was able to spend the last month of her life with her children and grandchildren in Kentucky and Tennessee. It was a special time spent with her loving family that they will cherish.
Surviving besides her loving husband, Chad, and her mother, Joyce Whitcomb, of Oneida, are two children, Ashley (Doug) Wilson, Jr., of London, KY, and Nickalaus (Lenka) Wallace, of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Ethan Eichles, Douglas “Trey” Wilson, III, Kaelyn Wilson, Starr Wallace, and Phoenix Wallace; three siblings, Robyn (Mark) Barbano, Terry (Paul) Maphia, all of Oneida, and James C. (Rebecca) Whitcomb, Jr., of Coppers Cove, TX; her mother-in-law, Elaine Wallace (Andrew Coulthart), of Oneida; her father-in-law, Daryl (Carol) Wallace, of Canastota; the father of her children, David A. (Barbara) Wallace, Sr., of Sherrill; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Peter) Townsend, of Sylvan Beach, Julie Leroy (Jim Loveless), of Wampsville; a brother-in-law, Andrew Coulthart, II, of Oneida; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Kathy was predeceased by her father, James in 2011, and her son, David A. Wallace, Jr. in 2004.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 7:00 PM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., where the Rev. Richard J. Kapral will officiate. Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
