Obituary of Rena Fragiacomo
Rena B. Arno Fragiacomo, 90, of Barrington Hills Apt., Oneida Castle, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born on May 30, 1928, in Cuyler, NY, the daughter of Kirby S. and Bertha Wilbur Bartholomew. She was attended DeRuyter High School and received her GED from Modesto Jr. College. She went on to receive her nursing degree from SUNY Morrisville.
In 1945, Rena married Lewis J. Arno whom passed away only nine years later in 1954.
In April of 1960, Rena was united in marriage to Raymond Fragiacomo. He passed away in February of 1997.
Rena was employed as a Registered Nurse at Plaza ECF in Syracuse for seventeen years. She then went to work as an RN for the Jewish Home of CNY for nine years, retiring in 1994. After her retirement, she went on to be a Hospice volunteer nurse. She also did private home care for many years. Rena was also employed as the bookkeeper at Hodges Men’s Store in Oneida for many years.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Church in Verona Beach.
Surviving are two children, Lewis J. (Michele) Arno, of Ryderwood, WA, and Kevin S. (Gloria) Arno, of Potsdam; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rena was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Tully. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida.
