Obituary of Marjorie V. Kriechbaum

passed away peacefully Thursday morning April 22, 2010 in the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility where she had been a resident for the last 28 days. Marjorie Marie Joan Virgilio was born on March 26, 1927 in Albany the daughter of Anthony J. and Margaret E. Pomykalski Virgilio. Marge had been a resident of Oneida since 1955 coming from Albany. She was a graduate of Cathedral Academy in Albany Class of 1945. She married Harold J. Kriechbaum on August 12, 1950 in Our Lady of Angels Church in Albany. Mr. Kriechbaum died on June 26, 1993. Marge was employed for 16 years as the assistant manager at the former Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Oneida retiring in 1982. She had previously been employed for several years as the physical education instructor at St. Patrick's School in Oneida. Marge also owned and operated a restaurant at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome from 1968-1969. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Oneida and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Lady Owls Nest #2210 in Oneida, was a former member of the St. Patrick's School Mothers Club. She was a very avid and intense BINGO player and New York Yankees Fan. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws; Clayton D. and Kay Kriechbaum of Eden, NC and Mark A. and Eileen Kriechbaum of Faribault, MN, two daughters and one son-in-law; Barbara and David Kinney of Oneida, Patricia (Tricia) Kriechbaum Miles of Oneida. five grandchildren; Keeley Ann Miles of Liverpool and her fiancé Michael Hines, Killian Miles of Oneida, Clayton M. Kriechbaum of St. Paul MN, Erika Kriechbaum and Regan Kriechbaum both of Faribault, MN, two step-grandchildren; Jamey and Andrea Kinney of Durhamville, and Gina and Roberto Amador of Reedsville, NC, six step great grandchildren and one step great-great grandson, one sister and brother-in-law; James and Antoinette Peer of Albany and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one brother Joseph A. Virgilio. Funeral Services will be held 9:30 AM Monday April 26, 2010 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. and 10:00 AM in St. Patrick's Church where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Richard J. Kapral. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery Oneida. Friends are invited and may call 2-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home 342 Main Street Oneida. Memorial Contributions may be made to either St. Patrick's School 354 Elizabeth Street Oneida, NY 13421 or St. Patrick's Church 347 Main Street Oneida, NY 13421.
