Obituary of Dorothy R. Noto

Wampsville died peacefully Monday morning December 10, 2007 in the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility where she had been a resident since December 10, 2004. Dorothy was born on October 6, 1917 in Utica the daughter of Bert J. and Ethel Clark Roberts. A lifelong resident of the area she was a graduate of Oneida High School Class of 1936. She married Nathan J. Noto Jr. on May 7, 1941 in St. Patrick's Church Oneida. Her beloved Nate died on November 25, 2006. Dorothy was employed as a stenographer and clerk with the Madison County Surrogates Court for 10 years retiring in 1981. She had previously been employed with the Oneida Daily Dispatch. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Oneida, a member and Past President of Court of Our Lady #1250 Catholic Daughters of America, a former member and Past president of the Oneida Business and Professional Women's Club and a former member of the Wampsville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a past secretary and member of Oneida Ltd. Retirement Club, founder of the Young At Heart Group in Wampsville and a member of St. Joseph's Church Senior Citizens. Surviving are three daughters and two son-in-laws; Maureen A. and Wesley Rowe of Oneida Valley, Kathleen M. and Eric Rowe of Fulton and Margaret E. "Peggy" Dryer of Wampsville, two sons and daughter-in-laws; Nathan J. and Susan Noto III of Elmira, Michael C. Noto of Fulton and Sharon Noto of Liverpool, 13 grandchildren Kelly Noto, Scott Noto, Shannon and Michael Milliman, Andrew and Gina Noto, Erin Noto, Nathan Noto, Carrie and Roger Kincaid, Kristen McLean, Jonna and Eric Brown, Rebecca and Jay Frind, Kimberly Rowe and Robert Cooper, Mitchell and Aimee L. Dryer, and Aimee B. Dryer, 9 great-grandchildren; Colton McLean, Kiersee McLean, Aubrey Ambrosio, Nathan Brown, Chloe Milliman, Leo Milliman, Austin Cooper, Kaylee Cooper, and Abigail Noto, one sister and brother-in-law; Betty and Howard Thall and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, William Roberts on May 3, 2006 and two sisters; Elaine Anguish on December 7, 2006 and Janet Rudolph on September 16, 2006. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Friday December 14, 2007 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. and 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Edmund A. Castronovo. Interment will be made in St. Helena's Cemetery Oneida. Friends are invited and may call 4-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home 342 Main Street Oneida.
