Obituary of Michael R. Burton

died peacefully Monday evening July 13, 2009 in the comfort of his own home with his loving family surrounding him after a yearlong battle with cancer. Mike was born on May 22, 1986 Syracuse, the son of Elizabeth Burgdoff Burton. He graduated from Lafayette High School class of 2004 and attended Onondaga Community College. Michael had been employed as a messenger for Green & Seifter, Attorneys, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants, PLLC and Investment Advisors, LLC in Syracuse from August 2007 until his illness forced him to leave the work that he so enjoyed and go on disability in June 2008. He was an avid reader and video game junkie. He had been very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and proudly became a life scout. Surviving besides his loving mother Elizabeth are four aunts; Jodi (Murray) McBride of Morrisville, Stephanie Rhodes of Tuscon, AZ, Michelle (Jim) Dowsland of Hamilton and Becky (Bill) Dowsland of Hubbardsville, three uncles; Raymond (Tammy) Burgdoff Jr. of Truxton, Steven (Vlada) Burgdoff of Chittenango and Brian ( Angie) Burgdoff of Wampsville, his maternal grandfather; Raymond Burgdoff Sr. and his wife Harriet of Ocala, FL and many,many close cousins. He was pre-deceased by his maternal grandmother; Betty Paquette and her husband Willie. Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc, Oneida with Rev. Janet Gleason of the Herkimer First United Methodist Church officiating.
