Obituary of Etalo G. Patricia

Etalo G. Patricia died Wednesday afternoon, August 15, 2007 in Wilson Regional Medical Center, Johnson City following a brief illness. Etalo was born on January 3, 1922 in Oneida the son of Angelo and Libera Mizzoni Patricia. A lifelong resident of the area he graduated from Oneida High School the class of 1939 and Syracuse University in 1950 with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. He married Marion Reinhardt on May 19, 1951 in St. Patrick's Church Oneida. Mrs. Patricia died on August 13, 1992. Etalo was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend and will be desperately missed by all who loved him. Mr. Patricia was employed for 35 years by Oneida Ltd. as a commercial artist retiring in 1985. He had previously worked at Todd Display's in Sherrill and had painted several local signs. He continued to work well into his seventies, designing signs for various local businesses. Etalo served with distinction as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and received an honorable discharge on December 7, 1945. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Oneida. He was a former member of the Oneida Ltd. Retirement Club, the CAC, the Silver City Stamp Club and the City of Oneida Signe Review Board. In addition to his love of art, Etalo enjoyed bowling and golf and was a member of the Monday Night Tavern League at Brandy Brook Golf Course in Durhamville for many years. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws; Steven and Helen Patricia of Ligonier, PA, Jeffrey and Karen Patricia of Apalachin, NY, one daughter Ellen Patricia of Worthington, OH, two grandchildren Nicholas and Justin Patricia, one brother and sister-in-law: Albert and Janet Patricia of Oneida. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Kathleen in 1961 and his sister Ida Patricia in August 2005. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces; Ken and Tom Patricia, Andy Reinhardt, Jane DiLullo and Martha Haughey; and his brother-in-law Ted Reinhardt and his wife, Rose.
