Viola R. Rowe, 99, of Blossvale, passed away on Saturday morning, August 7, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Clinton where she had been a resident since July 29, 2021. She was born on August 25, 1921, in Westmoreland, the daughter of Harry D. and Nellie Burton Wattenbe. Viola was employed by Hubbard Industries in Wampsville for over twenty years, retiring in 1988. She was previously employed by Oneida Limited. She enjoyed car racing from dirt to Indy to NASCAR. She was also an avid sewer and crochter; knitting many afghans for family and friends. She also enjoyed reading Surviving are her children, Burton “Noky” (Sandy) Rolewicz, of Vernon, and Judy Messier, of North Bay; nine grandchildren, Steve (Ruth) Rolewicz, Deb (Dean) O’Dell, Mike (Diane) Rolewicz, Brenda (Joe) Fitzsimons, Victor Messier IV, Nicholas Messier (Tiffany O'Dell), Stephanie Messier (Andrew Wilson), Hannah Crofutt, and C.J. Crofutt; nine great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Wattenbe, and Donald Wattenbe. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. where the Rev. Marsha Madore will officiate. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Westmoreland. Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
