Our History

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. was established in November of 1986.  Bruce M. Ironside purchased the facility from Edward McDaniels who had opened the funeral home in 1980.  Mr. Ironside had been the manager of the home since 1982.  Since the purchase in 1986, many renovations have been made with two major additions including a new front entrance along with a new garage area, an expanded chapel, and most recently, a new arrangement office.  In 1990, the funeral home became affiliated with TRUST 100 Network of Independent Funeral Homes that specializes in funeral pre-arrangement.

Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., is a family owned and operated funeral home.  Bruce and Kathy Ironside have tried to create a "home-like" feel in their funeral home.  Every aspect of the business has been about family and embracing a family atmosphere and values.  Bruce is the head of the operation and the face of the business.  Kathy is the "mom" and makes sure all the little details are taken care of.  Their daughter, Michelle, followed in her father's footsteps and is also a licensed funeral director.  Their son, James, although he chose a different career path, a PGA professional, helps out around the business and the yard when he's not on the golf course.  Their son-in-law, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Gretchen, have also been known to work funerals and provide assistance when needed.  Just like any family, the Ironside family is continuing to grow.  The most recent additions of a chocolate lab, Bella, and their four grandchildren, Allison Lynne, Danielle Elizabeth,  Jack Michael, and Conor Joseph, help to put smiles on the faces of those in need.  At the end of the day, the most important thing in life is family.  As you have entrusted us with your greatest treasure, your loved one, we hope to become apart of your family as much as you have become apart of ours.
