Oneida—Robert N. Phillips, 39, of 453 Main St., formerly of Sicklerville, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
He was born on August 25, 1978, in Denville, NJ, the son of Thomas and Patricia Sandilands Phillips. Robert was a 1996 graduate of Pomperaug High School in Middlebury, CT, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Class of 2000.
On October 2, 2005, Robert was united in marriage to Kelly J. Mims.
Robert was employed by the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY as a restaurant manager for the past year. He was previously employed by Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ for eight years.
Surviving besides his loving wife of twelve years, Kelly, and his parents, Thomas and Patricia Phillips, of Goshen, CT; are two children, Robert Phillips, and Natalie Phillips, both at home; three brothers, Patrick (Sarah) Phillips, of Washington, DC, Thomas (Eileen) Phillips, of Southbury, CT, and Daniel (Emily) Phillips, of Easton, CT; his paternal grandmother, Emma Bukowski, of Middlebury, CT; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Sandilands, and his paternal grandfather, Nelson Phillips.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 11:30 AM with a Prayer Service at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., followed by his Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Patrick’s Church, 347 Main St., Oneida, where the Rev. Richard J. Kapral will officiate. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at and on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
