Ruth E. Bobenhausen

Ruth E.
Bobenhausen, 88, a resident of
the Lutheran Adult Care Home and most recently the Martin Luther Home
died Thursday morning May 15, 2003.
Ruth was born on May
17, 1914 in Holland Patent the daughter of Seymour and Zeona Collins
Johnson. She attended
school in Middletown, NY.
Ruth had been a
resident of Westmoreland since 1966 until moving to the Lutheran Home in
Clinton in May of 2000
Ruth was employed for
many years as a companion with the Lutheran Homes in Clinton. She had
previously been employed as a file clerk in the blue print room of
General Electric in Utica.
She was a member of
the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rome and Oneida.
Ruth married John W.
Bobenhausen on May 27, 1939 in Syracuse. He died on March 24, 2002. |

Surviving is one son
and daughter-in-law David and Maggie Bobenhausen of Cartersville, GA;
three daughters and three son-in-laws, Joyce and Roger Andrews of
Washington, VA, Janet Collins and her special friend Gary Markowicz of
Whitesboro, Kathy and Jerry Knieram of Fife, WA, Robert Slantz Sr. of
Highland, IL; one sister, Reba Peenstra of Fulton ten grandchildren and
spouses, Paul and Stephanie Bobenhausen, Kimberly and Matt Harris,
Carrie Bobenhausen, Jonathan and Becky Andrews, Teri and Rob Miner,
Kristine and Andrew Puckey, Robert Slantz Jr., William and Jean Slantz,
Jayne Slantz, Mary and Doug Taylor; eleven great-grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Joan Slantz in 1972, one
sister Claribel Whipple and one brother Allen Gates
Ruth’s family wish
to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of the
Lutheran Adult Home and the Martin Luther Home for the exceptional care,
concern and love extended to Ruth during the last 3 years.
Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
Memorial Services
will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made in
Crown Hill Memorial Park, Town of New Hartford. There will be no calling
hours. Memorial

Jane I. Butler

Jane
I. Butler, 77 of 359 Leonard
Street Oneida died peacefully Saturday evening August 30, 2003 in the
Oneida Healthcare Center where she had been a medical patient for the
last three days.
Jane
was born August 25, 1926 in Oneida the daughter of Joseph and Loretta
Cafalone Maiura. She was a graduate of Oneida High School class of 1944.
Jane
had been a resident of Oneida until 1970 when she moved to St.
Petersburg Florida. She returned to Oneida in July 1992.
She
married Joseph A. Butler on September 13, 1976 in Sarasota, FL. Mr.
Butler died on December 3, 1993.
Jane
was employed as a machine operator with Stanton Paper Box of Oneida for
24 years until 1970 when she moved to Florida. While in Florida she was
employed with Heinaman’s Bakery for 10 years, Biff Burger for 6 years
and the Canteen Commissary.
Jane
was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Oneida and formerly attended
Transfiguration Church in St. Petersburg. She was a former member of the
St. Joseph’s Altar and Rosary Society.
For
the last 8 years Jane has been actively involved with the NYSDSO on
Wilson Street in Oneida as a Senior Companion.

Surviving
is one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and John Mazzullo of Oneida, one
son William L. Butler of Oneida, one daughter-in-law Jennifer Butler of
Oneida, two sisters; Loretta Rinaldi of Canastota and Josephine Jacob of
Oneida, seven grandchildren Joseph Butler, Bruce and Barbara Butler,
Lori and Jason Brummer, Susan Butler, Heather and Dr. Craig Pawlak, John
and Stephanie Mazzullo IV, James Butler, 10 great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one son Joseph R.
Butler on August 31, 2002 and several brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Mass will
be celebrated 10:00 AM Wednesday September 3, 2003 in St. Joseph’s
Church Oneida by Rev, Edmund A. Castronovo. Interment will be made in
St. Patrick’s Cemetery Oneida. Friends are invited and may call 5-8 PM
Tuesday at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. 342 Main Street Oneida.

Cinquemani, 60, of 448 W.
Railroad Street Oneida died peacefully at home Tuesday morning February
25, 2003 following an illness of the last six weeks.
Giuseppe was born on
February 10, 1943 in Palermo, Sicily the son of Stefano and Maria
Tomaselli Cinquemani. He graduated High School in Italy and came to the
United States in 1989.
He married Marie
Hilaire on August 11, 1980 in Italy.
Giuseppe was a
self-employed electrician.
He was a member of
St. Joseph’s Church in Oneida.
Giuseppe was a loving
husband, father, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by his
loving wife Marie, three sons; Stefano Cinquemani, Luciano Cinquemani,
Giuseppe Cinquemani all at home, one daughter Eleonora Cinquemani at
home, three sisters; Lena Tavolntta, Giovanna Cinquemani both of Italy,
Eleonora and her husband Frank Lazio of Oneida, one brother Carmalo
Cinquemani of Italy and several nieces and nephew.

John J. Goonan

John J. Goonan,
82, of 408 Sayles Street died Tuesday morning January 28, 2003 in the
Oneida Healthcare Center where he had been a medical patient since
January 15th.
John was born on July
14, 1920 in Westbury, LI the son of Thomas P. and Stella McCullough
Goonan. He was a graduate
of Alexander Hamilton High School in Brooklyn. He had been a resident of
Oneida since 1988 coming from Port Jervis.
He married Elizabeth
M. (Betty) Doherty on February 24, 1945 in St. Xavier’s Church in
Brooklyn. Mrs. Goonan died on December 30, 1993.
John was employed as
an installer/repairman for New York Telephone in Newburgh for 38 years
retiring February 29, 1984. He and his wife also owned and operated the
Oakland Valley Campground in Orange Co. from 1973 to 1987.
John was a member of
St. Patrick’s Church in Oneida and a former member of the Archbishop
Malloy Council Knights of Columbus.
John was an Army
Veteran of World War II where he served as a communications chief
technician with the Battery B Harbor Defense of New York. |

Surviving are three
sons and two daughter-in-laws; Thomas J. Goonan of Oneida, William D.
and Kathy Goonan of Liverpool and Robert E. and Joan Goonan of
Mertztown, PA, one daughter: Elizabeth A. Goonan of Miami, FL, six grand
children; Megan Goonan, Kelly Goonan, Colin Goonan, Christopher Goonan,
Ryan Goonan and Dr. Kathleen Burger, two great grandchildren; Dominick
and Tristen Goonan. He was
pre-deceased by one son John J. Goonan Jr. on June 27, 1993.
Funeral Services will
be held 1:30 PM Friday from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. and 2:00PM
in St. Patrick’s Church where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by
Rev. William A. Mesmer. Interment
will be made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Oneida.

Richard E. Hall,
43, of 345 Main Street Oneida died Friday evening October 17, 2003 in
University Hospital Syracuse following a brief battle with cancer.
Richard was born on
March 9, 1960 in Syracuse the son of William L. and Diane Binning Hall. A
lifelong resident of the area he was a graduate of Chittenango High
School class of 1978 where he was member of the football and basketball
teams. He then attended the State University of New York at Alfred.
Richard was a US Navy
veteran where he served in 1983-1984.
He was an avid golfer
and had a tremendous love for fishing.
Surviving is his
mother Diane Hall of Avon Park, FL; one sister and brother-in-law, Cathy
and Jerry Southwick of Cazenovia; one brother, William H. Hall of
Cazenovia; two nieces, two nephews and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his father William Hall on April 30 2002
and his sister Carol Hall on April 29, 2003. |

LeRoy
(Stubby) Hollingsworth, 84, of
552 Sherrill Road, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at the Oneida
Healthcare Center, following a brief illness.
He
was born December 25, 1918, in Crogan, NY, the son of Lynn Roy and
Minnie Steiner Hollingsworth.
Stubby
resided in Sherrill most of his life, and was a graduate of Sherrill
High School. He also lived
in Florida from 1980-1989 following his retirement.
He
worked for Oneida Ltd. in Sherrill for 43 years, retiring in 1980.
Stubby
was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing.
He was a member of the CAC Clubs, Sherrill American Legion Post
#230, and a past member of the VFW in Florida, the Moose Lodge in
Florida, and the Elks Club in Florida and Oneida.
He
was a World War II veteran, serving overseas with the U.S. Army Air
Force. During his time of
service he received several honors including the Air Medal with three
oak leaf clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the North
African-European Theater Ribbon with four stars.
Stubby
married Leona Stone on December 15, 1945, in St. Helena’s Church in
Sherrill. Leona died on
April 15, 1996.

two (2) daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri & Richard Munger of
Sherrill and Dawn & Richard Hale of Houston, TX; a son and
daughter-in-law, Thomas & Donna Hollingsworth of Peru, NY; a sister
and brother-in-law, Norma & Walter Bortle of Sherrill; six (6)
grandchildren, Julianne, Heather, Andy, Jonathan, Jay and Lori; four (4)
great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a
special niece Kathi Rosselle.
Funeral
services for LeRoy “Stubby” Hollingsworth, 84, of Sherrill, will be
held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc.,
Oneida. Spring burial will
be in St. Helena’s Cemetery, Oneida.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, prior to
the service, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home, 342 Main Street, Oneida.

Klish, 91, of 149 Lake Road
Oneida died Tuesday afternoon May 6, 2003 at his residence with his
loving family by his side.
Ben
was born on February 21, 1912 in Shaytown, Pa. the son of Peter and Mary
Plezia Klish. He attended
Oneida Schools.
Ben had been a
resident of Oneida since 1922. He
married Arlene VanNostrand on June 14, 1941 in St. Francis Church
Durhamville.
Ben was employed as a
buffer with Oneida Ltd. Silversmiths retiring in 1974.
Mr. Klish was a
member of St. Francis Church Durhamville, Oneida Ltd. Retirement Club
and the Community Associated Clubs.
Ben really enjoyed
the outdoors and loved gardening and cutting wood.

eleven grandchildren; Lisa Klish, Julie Klish, Carrie Riley, Amanda
Klish, Michael Bayliss, Jackie Neveu, Andrew Bayliss, Brian Klish,
Stacey Klish, Cynthia Ali and Robert Klish, seven great grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel
Lawrence Mahoney, 85, of 805
Pioneer Avenue died peacefully Sunday, March 30, 2003 at his residence with his loving
family at his side following a long fight against cancer.
Daniel
was born on March 27, 1918 in Sherrill the son of John and Margaret
Fallahee Mahoney.
He was a graduate of Bridgewater Central School, class of 1936.
He and his wife have resided in Sylvan Beach and Brooksville,
Florida for the last 15 years.
Following
high school, he joined the Army serving in World War II in Oran, Africa
and was wounded in the Battle of Anzio, Italy.
Daniel
owned and operated Mahoney’s Barbershop in Mohawk from 1956-1971.
He and his wife then owned and operated Hubb’s Point Restaurant
in Northville for several years.
Daniel then became the Transportation coordinator for the Office
for the Aging in Fulton County retiring in 1985 and having received
several commendations for his work with the elderly in Fulton County.
He
married Geraldine Edick on November 24, 1948 in Daytona Beach Florida.
He
was a member of St. John’s Church North Bay, past commander and
honorary life member of the Crowley- Barnum American Legion Post #25 in
Mohawk, a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and the Disabled
American Veterans in Herkimer, and the Oneida Lodge #767 Benevolent and
Protective Order of the Elks.
He also received a Certificate of Appreciation for his
contribution to Avenue of Flags National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

is his wife of 55 years, Geraldine, two daughters and one son-in-law;
Jean Joyce of Caroga Lake, NY and Patricia Mahoney-Drawec and her
husband James L. Drawec of Pittsfield, Mass, one son and
daughter-in-law; Richard G. and Marlea Millis of Albion, NY, one sister;
Theresa Mahoney Asche of Canastota, six grandchildren, five great
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers; John and Robert Mahoney and
one sister; Marie Pollard.

Services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday April 3, 2003 from the Ironside

and 12:00 PM in St. Patrick’s Church Oneida where the Funeral

Elizabeth Rae (Bebe)
Marchetti, 60, of 390 Rosewood
Circle Canastota died Tuesday afternoon November 18, 2003 at her
sister’s home 304 Kinsley Street Sherrill surrounded by her loving
family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bebe was born on
December 23, 1942 in Oneida the daughter of Ray A. and Marie Berry
Jollie. She had been a
lifelong resident of the area.
Bebe was a graduate
of VVS High School class of 1961 and then graduated from Central City
Business Institute (CCBI) in Syracuse.
She married Robert P.
Marchetti on April 8, 1967 in Plymouth Congregational Church Sherrill.
Bebe had been
employed as a statistical secretary with Bristol Labs in Syracuse from
1961-1969. At that time she
became a mother and a homemaker and in later years was a substitute
teacher with Canastota Central Schools and Madison-Oneida BOCES.
Bebe was a member
Plymouth Congregational Church in Sherrill. She had also served the
Canastota Recreation Commission for over 10 years, was a volunteer
driver with the American Cancer Society.
For her enjoyment Bebe loved bowling, softball and golf where she
had been the recipient of many awards for her special talents.
Surviving is her
husband Robert, two daughters and one son-in-law; Laurel and Scott Lemee
of Canastota, Renee Marchetti of Camden, four sisters and
brother-in-laws; Michal and Robert Tate of Clearwater, FL, Renee and
Edward Chandler of Verona, Jonel and Harry Stanhope of Sherrill, Mimi
and Marc Edwards of Vernon Center, one brother and sister-in-law, John
and Sandra Jollie of Sherrill and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also had two very special uncles, Robert Oakley Berry and
James Bristow both of Sarasota, FL. |

Boonville, NY died Thursday evening November 6, 2003 at her residence surrounded by
her loving family following a brief courageous battle with cancer,
Cindy was born on June 1,
1970 in Oneida the daughter of William and Bonnie Maxfield Meade Sr. She
attended Oneida High School.
Cindy was united in marriage with Jamie L. McCoppin on August 10,
2002 in Stockbridge,
Cindy was employed as a
money room clerk in the bingo hall at Turing Stone Casino in Verona from
1998 until earlier this year when she became ill.
Surviving is her husband
Jamie; her parents William and Bonnie Meade of Canastota; three children
Cody Meade, Kayla Meade and Ace Meade all at home; one sister Laurie
Jordan and her fiancée Garry Maniacek of Sherrill; one brother and
sister-in-law Jamie and Michele Meade of Canastota, her maternal
grandmother Marjorie McCallister of Oneida and her mother-in-law Judy
McCoppin of Canastota; four nieces, four nephews and many aunts, uncles,
and cousins. She was
pre-deceased by a brother Billy Meade on November 2, 1995 and her
paternal grandmother Mary Meade on October 13, 2003. |

56, of 215 N. Willow Street Oneida went to
be with the Lord unexpectedly Tuesday morning April 15, 2003 in the
emergency room at the Oneida Healthcare Center.
Mr. Meade was born on
December 30, 1946 in Oneida the son of Lynn W. and Mary Sullivan Meade
Sr. He was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley High School.
He married Jeanette
Maxfield on June 11, 1983 in Oneida.
Mr. Meade was
employed as a machine operator by H.P. Hood in Oneida for 35 years
retiring 3 years ago due to a disability.
He was of the
Protestant faith.
Mr. Meade was an Army
veteran having served in Vietnam and attained the rank of Corporal. |

Mary L. Meade,
89, of 6634 Sullivan Road in the Town of Stockbridge, Oneida died
unexpectedly Monday morning October 13, 2003 at her residence.
Mary was born on
December 23, 1913 in Munnsville the daughter of Edward and Jane Allen
Sullivan. A lifelong resident of the area she was a graduate of
Stockbridge High School class of 1935.
She was the widow of
Lynn W. Meade Sr. who died in 1968.
Mary was employed as
a nurse’s aid with the Jewish Home of Central New York in Dewitt from
1971-1988.
Surviving are two
daughters; Ann Golly of Stockbridge, Peggy Austin of Rome, two sons;
William and Bonnie Meade of Canastota, Richard Meade of Rome , one
daughter in law; Jeanette Meade of Oneida, 12 grandchildren, 37 great
grandchildren. She was
pre-deceased by on son Lynn W. Meade Jr. on April 15, 2003 and one
grandson William E. Meade Jr. on November 2, 1995.
Graveside
Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday in Stockbridge Cemetery with
Rev. Joseph F. Kehoe officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Edith B. Nodecker,
83, of 3799 Kenwood Road Oneida died Saturday afternoon July 19, 2003 in
the Presbyterian Home for Central New York where she had been a resident
since March 28, 2003.
Edith was born on
September 22, 1919 in Bernards Bay the daughter of Claude and Bessie
Rowe Beebe. A lifelong resident of the area she attend the Sherrill
Schools. She married Preston O. Nodecker in 1937.
He died in 1985.
Edith was employed
for 20 years with Oneida Limited Silversmiths. She then was employed for
10 years with the former Gol-Pak Corporation of Oneida retiring in 1984.
She was a member of
the Gethsemane Episcopal Church in Sherrill.
She enjoyed playing Bingo around the local area and will be
missed by her many bingo playing friends.

298 Kirkville died Wednesday August 20, 2003 in Crouse-Irving Memorial
Hospital Syracuse where she had been a medical patient for three weeks.
Marjorie was born on
February 14, 1918 in Oneida the daughter of Howard E. and Jennie M.
Preece Brown. She was a
graduate of Canastota High School.
Marjorie had resided
in Kirkville for the last four years and was a longtime resident of
Lenox Avenue in Oneida.
She was the widow of
Walter B. Omicinski whom she married on January 24, 1964 in Cortland.
Marjorie had been
employed as a bookkeeper with Arthur Pratt Real Estate in Oneida and had
previously been employed with Die Molding Corporation in Canastota.
She was a member of
the Plymouth Alliance Church in Sherrill and was a volunteer with the
Chittenango Food Bank.
There are no known
relatives surviving however, there are many close friends whose lives
were impacted by this special lady.
Memorial Services
will be held 2:00PM Sunday, September 7, 2003 at the Plymouth Alliance
Church, 169 Kinsley Street, Sherrill, NY with Rev. Kurt P. Johnson
officiating. Interment will be made in Verona Cemetery.

Hazel Carpenter Home and
formerly of 210 N. Main Street Oneida died peacefully Tuesday evening
April 15, 2003 in the Oneida Healthcare Center following a brief
illness.
Florence was born
October 31, 1904 in Oneida the daughter of Charles and Caroline Beisell
Pflieger.
She was a lifelong
resident of Oneida and attended the Oneida Schools.
Florence was employed
with the former New York Telephone as an operator for 40 years retiring
in 1961.
Florence was a member
of St. Joseph’s Church in Oneida, a former member of the Altar Rosary
Society and was a member of Pioneer Telephone Operators Assn. |

Surviving are two
nieces, Margaret Tucker of Oneida and Nancy Culp of Arkansas, one nephew
Keith Pflieger of Chicago; great nieces Carol Sheldon of Camillus and
Kathryn Cashel of Canastota, great nephews, Frank Pinkosky of Sayre, PA
and Alan Tucker of Chittenango. She
was pre-deceased by one niece Barbara Pinkosky and three brothers,
Clarence, Carl and Harry Pflieger.
Funeral Services will
be held 12:30 PM Tuesday April 22, 2003 from the Ironside Funeral Home,
Inc. and 1:00 PM from St. Joseph’s Church where the Funeral Mass will
be celebrated by Rev. Edmund A. Castrovono.
Interment will be made in St. Francis Cemetery Durhamville.

Dan was born August
16, 1951 in Buffalo the son of William Joseph and Eileen Marie Gates
Purcell. He was a graduate
of Bishop Turner High School in Buffalo and Erie Community College.
He married Chris
Wolak on July 3, 1983 at Silver Lake NY.
Dan was an optician
with the Empire Vision Center in Utica since 1984 and in the summer of
2001 he transferred to the Rome location.
Surviving is his wife
Chris, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Thomas P. Purcell of Castile
and William J. and Angela Purcell of Homewood, IL; four sisters and
three bother-in-laws, Sharon and Allen Mohr of Little Rock, AR, Mary Ann
Ross of West Seneca, Patricia and Todd Davis of Newport News, VA, Susan
and Clay Haney of Camden, DE; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Wolak of Utica;
two sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Rose and Stan Czternastek and
Linda and Don Vanderhoff both of Utica; one brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Frank and Patricia Wolak of Whitesboro and several nieces
and nephews and a host of hunting and fishing buddies. His mother Eileen
Gates Purcell of Orchard Park died Saturday February 15, 2003. He was
pre-deceased by his father William on March 6, 1999, his father-in-law
Frank Wolak on December 22, 1988 and brother-in-law C.J. Wolak on
December 11, 1985. |

Mary was a graduate

She was a member of
All Saints Episcopal Church in Rochester.
Surviving besides her
husband Donald, are one daughter and son in law; Patricia and Paul

Jane P. Rebasz,
87, formerly of 117 West Sands Street Oneida died peacefully Thursday
evening December 11, 2003 in the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care
Facility where she had been a resident since February 21, 2001.
Jane was born on
August 24, 1916 in Ilion the daughter of John and Mary Dade Phillipps.
She was a graduate of Ilion High School and the Crouse Irving Hospital
School of Nursing.
She married Dr.
Richard J. Rebasz on December 21, 1943 in Ilion. Dr. Rebasz died on May
29, 1973.
Jane was employed as
a rehabilitation nurse with the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 21
years retiring in 1991.
Jane was a member of
St. Patrick’s Church in Oneida, the Altar and Rosary Society, Court of
Our Lady #1250 Catholic Daughters of America, the Oneida Healthcare
Center Ladies Auxiliary and the Crouse-Irving Alumni Association. She
was also a charter member of the Columbian Club in Oneida.
Surviving is her
daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Christopher Thompson of Verona;
three grandchildren and spouses, Richard and Nickki Cavanagh of
Denville, NJ, John and Kim Cavanagh of Erie, PA, Megan and David Ciccoa

November 17, 1934 in Mount Vernon, NY the son of Thomas A. and Mary Ward
Ryan. He graduated high
school in the Stamford, CT area and received a Bachelor’s Degree from
Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT in 1956.
He married Barbara
Jean Cehonski on May 23, 1964 in Clayville, NY. Mrs. Ryan died on
September 29, 1996.
Michael was the owner
of Michael Ryan Ltd. which specialized in lingerie sales.
He had previously been employed with Lily of France for several
years.
He was of the
Catholic Faith, and a member of the Essex Falls Golf Club on New Jersey
for over 20 years.
He was an Honorably
Discharged veteran of the US Marine Corps.

86, of 316 Kenwood Avenue Sylvan Beach, died Sunday afternoon July 20,
2003 in the Oneida Healthcare Center where he had been a patient for the
last three weeks.
Ken was born on
September 18,1916 in Oneida the son of George and Clara Wolff Seitz.
He was a graduate of Oneida High School.
Ken was an Army
veteran of World War II where he proudly served as a Sergeant with the
4146th Army Air Force Base Unit.
He married Marguerite
H. Kinney on June 24, 1938 in St. Joseph’s Church Oneida.
She died on January 16,1981.
In January 1983 he married Margaret Kinney.
Ken was a
self-employed carpenter in the local area for over 35 years retiring in
1981. |

Margaret, a resident of the Val-Haven home in Camden, one son Richard B.
Seitz of Sylvan Beach; one stepson and his wife, Paul and Joan Kinney of
Jacksonville, FL; one brother Father Paul F.X. Seitz of Sun City,
Bluffton, SC; two sisters, Dorothy Schrilla of Port Orange, FL and
Sister Marie Seitz, D.C. of Emmitsburg, MD; two sister in laws; Margaret
(Peg) Maxwell of Corry, PA of and Eleanor (Ellie) Seitz of Chandler, AZ.
He was pre-deceased by five brothers, Bernard, who died while serving in
the military in 1942, Joseph in 1988, William in 1996, Robert in 1998
and Bro Carl Seitz, S. J. in 1999.

Vistawood Way Boca Raton, FL died peacefully Friday November 21, 2003 at the
Boca Raton Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Ella was born on
April 11, 1926 in Sayre, PA the daughter of Dr. Percival Dee and Ella
Marie Wilson Bailey.
Ella graduated from
Norwich High School. She then graduated from Eastman School of Music in
Rochester, received a B.A. in English from the University of Rochester
and a Masters in English from Colgate University. She was then a visiting scholar at Cambridge University in
England studying British Literature.
Ella was a teacher of
Music and English at many schools.
Her instruction of young people took her to many places in the
world. She retired from Green Mountain High School in Chester, VT where
she taught from 1987 to 1993. She had also been at Barre High School in
Barre VT from 1986-1987, Wagner High School at Clark Air Base in the
Philippines from 1982-1985, the Chicksands Air base in England from
1976-1982, Palmyra-Macedon High School from 1960-1975, Bainbridge
Central School from 1954 to 1960 and Norwich Middle School from
1952-1954.
She was a member of
the Episcopal Faith. She
was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Music fraternity, the Delta
Kappa Gamma International Professional Teachers Association and the
Norwich Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving is one son
and daughter-in-law, C. Shawn and Rebecca Southern of Boca Raton, FL;
two grandchildren Daniel Shawn Southern and Christopher Charles
Southern; one brother and sister-in-laws, Phillip Duane and Anne Bailey
of Pittsford, NY, Barbara Bailey of Scottsdale, AZ, Claire Bailey of
Alexandria, PA, Barbara
Bailey of Kirksville, MO and several nieces nephews and cousins. She was

Alan E. Spawn,
69, of 6990 Buyea Rd. died unexpectedly Monday October 27, 2003 at his
residence.
Al was born on
October 19, 1934 in Schenectady the son of George H. and Elsie M. Tilley
Spawn. He came to the
Oneida area as a young boy and graduated from Oneida High School class
of 1953.
Al was self-employed
electronic technician for many years and the owner and operator of
Spawn’s TV and Radio Service. He retired in 1987.
He married Donna K.
Boyles on September 6, 1986 in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
Oneida. Donna died March 24, 1992.
Al was a very active
member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Oneida, where he had
led the Bible Study Group for 2 years, had been a former trustee, former
leader of youth fellowship and had served on the nominating and
personnel committee. He was currently serving as the chairman of the
Evangelization Committee.
Surviving are two
sons and daughter in laws, Mark A. & Carolyn Spawn of Fulton, Kevin
L. and Nyla Spawn of Redding, CA; one daughter and son-in law, Karen and
Carl Legere of Auburn ME, two step- daughters, Deborah Ward of Vernon,
Linda Lanni of Canastota, one step-son and his wife, Jeffrey and Jean
